Oh hi Mary, I haven’t seen you in a long time!

Ah olá Mary, há quanto tempo!

I think the last time we met was at my 50th last year.

Acho que a última vez que nos vimos foi nos meus 50 anos no ano passado.

Ah yes, I remember. We all came round to yours for a garden party, and it was such a sunny day.

Ah sim, lembro-me. Fomos todos lá a tua casa para uma festa no jardim, e estava um dia tão soalheiro.

We were lucky to be honest, as it poured down with rain the next day.

Tivemos sorte para ser sincera, porque no dia seguinte choveu a potes.

Definitely! Did you hear about the storm coming next week?

Sem dúvida! Ouviste falar da tempestade que vem para a próxima semana?

Oh, I didn’t hear anything.

Oh, não ouvi nada.

Yeah, I just heard on the radio that there’ll be strong winds coming in from the north, and there might even be a hailstorm.

Pois, acabei de ouvir na rádio que vão vir ventos fortes de norte, e pode até haver uma tempestade de granizo.

Oh, if that’s the case, I’d better take in the garden furniture. The last time we had a storm, it ruined the garden sofa.

Oh, se é assim, é melhor recolher os móveis do jardim. Da última vez que tivemos uma tempestade, estragou o sofá do jardim.

We’ve had nice weather recently though, so it’s hard to believe there’ll be a storm coming soon.

Mas temos tido bom tempo ultimamente, por isso é difícil acreditar que vem aí uma tempestade.

It’s starting to cloud over now actually, so perhaps the storm is coming already!

Até já está a começar a ficar nublado agora, por isso talvez a tempestade já venha a caminho!

My husband and I are supposed to be heading down to the beach on the weekend. I hope the weather stays clear for that.

O meu marido e eu devemos ir à praia no fim de semana. Espero que o tempo se mantenha bom para isso.

Ah, which beach are you going to?

We’re going to the one on the west coast of the island.

Vamos àquela na costa oeste da ilha.

I went there not too long ago and it was really nice! It was quite hot and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

Fui lá há pouco tempo e estava muito bonita! Estava bastante calor e não havia uma nuvem no céu.
