
Maya, Chen and James walked into the cavern with their torches. They were university students looking for crystals for their science project. "These purple crystals are strange," Chen said, checking his equipment. "They're giving off unusual energy."	"Ces cristaux violets sont étranges," dit Chen en vérifiant son équipement. "Ils dégagent une énergie inhabituelle."
As they went deeper, the crystals grew bigger and brighter. Soon they didn't need their torches anymore.	À mesure qu'ils s'enfonçaient dans la caverne, les cristaux devenaient plus grands et plus lumineux. Bientôt, ils n'eurent plus besoin de leurs torches.
In a large room, they found a huge crystal archway. Through it, they didn't see rock – they saw floating islands under a purple sky.	Dans une vaste salle, ils découvrirent une immense arche de cristal. À travers elle, ce n'était pas de la roche qu'ils voyaient – mais des îles flottantes sous un ciel violet.
"That's impossible," James said quietly.	"C'est impossible," dit James doucement.
They stood in silence, staring at the glowing archway. Maya took a step forward.	Ils restèrent silencieux, le regard rivé sur l'arche lumineuse. Maya fit un pas en avant.
"Wait!" Chen said, holding up his hand. "What if we can't come back?"	"Attends !" s'écria Chen en levant la main. "Et si on ne pouvait pas revenir ?"
"We should at least study it first," James added nervously.	"On devrait au moins l'étudier d'abord," ajouta James, nerveux.
Chen walked slowly around the portal, checking his equipment from different angles. "The energy is stable. It's not growing or changing."	Chen fit lentement le tour du portail en vérifiant son équipement sous différents angles. "L'énergie est stable. Elle n'augmente pas et ne change pas."
"So it's safe?" Maya asked.	"Alors, c'est sans danger ?" demanda Maya.
"I think so," Chen said. "And if it works one way, it should work both ways."	"Je pense que oui," répondit Chen. "Et si ça marche dans un sens, ça devrait marcher dans les deux sens."
Taking a deep breath, the three students stepped through together. They came out onto soft grass that glowed blue.	Prenant une grande inspiration, les trois étudiants franchirent le portail ensemble. Ils se retrouvèrent sur une herbe douce qui brillait d'une lueur bleue.
Above them, islands floated through the air like boats on water. Strange birds with crystal wings flew between them, making the most beautiful sounds.	Au-dessus d'eux, des îles flottaient dans les airs comme des bateaux sur l'eau. D'étranges oiseaux aux ailes de cristal voletaient entre elles, émettant les plus beaux sons.
"Everything works differently here," Chen said, watching water flow upwards into a floating lake.	"Ici tout fonctionne différemment," dit Chen en regardant l'eau s'écouler vers le haut dans un lac flottant.
Maya touched a flower that made a soft musical sound. "Everything here is full of energy."	Maya toucha une fleur qui émit un doux son musical. "Tout ici est chargé d'énergie."
James pointed far away. "Look at those buildings! Do you think people live here?"	James pointa du doigt au loin. "Regardez ces bâtiments ! Vous pensez qu'il y a des gens qui vivent ici ?"
"We should take pictures," Chen said, pulling out his camera.	"On devrait prendre des photos," dit Chen en sortant son appareil photo.
They spent an hour exploring the strange world. They found glowing plants, singing stones, and trees that changed colour.	Ils passèrent une heure à explorer ce monde étrange. Ils découvrirent des plantes lumineuses, des pierres chantantes et des arbres qui changeaient de couleur.
When the sky began to get darker, Maya said, "We should go back. We can come here again with better equipment."	Quand le ciel commença à s'assombrir, Maya dit, "On devrait rentrer. On peut revenir avec du meilleur équipement."
They walked back to the portal, which grew brighter as they got close.	Ils retournèrent vers le portail, qui brillait de plus en plus à mesure qu'ils s'en approchaient.
One by one, they stepped through. The dark cavern felt normal again. Their torches flickered in their hands.	L'un après l'autre, ils traversèrent. La caverne sombre leur semblait à nouveau normale. Leurs torches vacillaient dans leurs mains.
"Did that really happen?" James asked.	"Est-ce que ça s'est vraiment passé ?" demanda James.
Chen looked at his camera. The photos were there – proof of the impossible world.	Chen regarda son appareil photo. Les photos étaient bien là – la preuve d'un monde impossible.
Maya smiled at the crystal archway. "We'll come back tomorrow."	Maya sourit en regardant l'arche de cristal. "On reviendra demain."
They picked up their bags and left the cavern, already excited about their next visit to the world beyond the crystal cavern.	Ils ramassèrent leurs sacs et quittèrent la caverne, déjà impatients de retourner dans le monde au-delà de la caverne de cristal.
